Motorola Razr V3xx Tips

When Motorola released its first Razr cell phone in 2004, it was almost more of a fashion accessory than it was an advanced piece of technology. Its features were on par with many other cell phones, but it was known more for its looks than those features. By the time Motorola rolled out the Razr V3xx in 2006, the phone's features had caught up to its appearance.

Get to Know Your Main Menu

Think of the main menu of the Razr V3xx as the hub of the phone. By learning and accessing the menu, you'll have quick access to all of the features of the phone, including the camera, video camera, MP3 player, calendar and more. Accessing the main menu is just one button away. When you turn the phone on and flip it open you're taken to the phone's home screen. From there press the "Select" key, which is the round key that is surrounded by the circular navigation key. Use the navigation key to scroll through the menu items and press the "Select" key to choose the item that you want to access.

Increasing the Memory

The Motorola RAZR V3xx comes with 50MB of internal memory. However, if you utilize a lot of the extra features, such as the built-in MP3 player, digital camera or video camera, that memory won't last very long. Fortunately, the RAZR V3xx allows users to increase its memory by adding a microSD memory card up to 4GB in size. The card can be used to store music, photos, videos and other data. To insert the microSD card into the phone, simply open the battery door on the back of the phone and slide the card into its slot, which is located right above the battery. When you insert the card, make sure its metal contacts are facing down or the phone won't read the card.

Improved Features

The RAZR V3xx has taken some of the features included on other RAZR models and taken them up a notch. Among these improvements are a better camera--1.3 megapixels, up from 1.23 megapixels--for greater image quality. The V3xx also includes a USB 2.0 connection, compared to the USB 1.1 on older models. The latter improvement makes downloading data, MP3s and photos to and from the phone go much faster.

Check for Updates

With cell phones' ability to connect to the internet and the increased presence of mobile phone manufacturers online, keeping phones updated and running at optimal levels is just a website away. From time to time Motorola offers software updates for many of their phones--including the RAZR V3xx--through its website. The updates apply only to the phone's software and will not affect the data--phonebook entries and photos, for example--that you have added to the phone.
