Install A Mobile Hf

Before the popular use of repeater signal radio devices, HF (high-frequency) mobile radios give local coverage in a given area as well as the capability for capturing skywave contact signals. These mobile radios are used in motor vehicle as ham radios and customarily have wireless antennas with magnetic bases that are mounted to a high location on the vehicle, like the roof or the trunk, or standard installation antennas that screw into the existing antenna port on the vehicle. The process of installation is fairly straightforward.

Instructions

1. Uscrew the current antenna from the antenna port in the front or rear hood of the vehicle.

2. Screw the base of the HF mobile antenna into the antenna port. Tighten the antenna into place.

3. Plug the connector cable in the "Radio" (or equivalent) port in the back of the HF mobile radio, then plug the other end of the cable into the "Aux" (or equivalent) port in the dashboard of the vehicle.
