So you want to know align a double satellite dish. While a satellite dish have many advantages, one of its problems is that it occasionally gets knocked out of alignment, meaning your once digital picture now looks like an etch-a-sketch. A few simple tips will get you back on the couch in no time.

Instructions

1. Activate the signal meter reading screen on your satellite box. To do this, click "Menu" on your remote, then enter the set-up screen. From there, choose the "Satellite Signal Strength" screen.

2. Have your assistant go up onto your roof and loosen the screws that hold the dish in its position, but don't make them too loose. Chances are you will only need to adjust it an inch or so.

3. Have your assistant adjust your satellite dish up, down, left or right slowly. You will not want to move the dish more than a few centimeters at a time.

4. As your assistant moves the dish, watch the signal strength on the screen. You will want a minimum of 70 on each transponder, but preferably over 80.

5. Once you have reached the ideal position, re-tighten the bolts that hold the dish in place.
