Adobe Premiere
Pro 2.0 or CS2 is a useful tool in creating professional looking videos for HDV cameras. The crisp picture quality of many HDV cameras is greatly enhanced using Premiere Pro effects. Lighting and sound inconsistencies that occurred while shooting can be easily improved once your footage has been imported into the software. Be patient as HDV video footage loads in real time, meaning each minute of footage equals a minute of loading. To load the footage, you will need to set up Premiere for HDV capture.
Instructions
1. Connect your HDV camera to your computer using a USB connection. Power on your camera.
2. Open Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0. Click the icon labeled "New Project."
3. Type in a name for your project in the New Project dialog box. Set the Display Format to "Frames," since you are capturing HDV. Select "HDV" in the drop-down menu next to Capture. Click "OK."
4. Click "HDV" in the New Sequence dialog box under Available Presets. Click "OK." To import your footage from your HDV camera, click "File" then "Capture." The Capture window will appear with a preview screen showing the video from your HDV camera.
