An in-dash GPS navigation system provides maps and turn by turn directions while you drive. If you have a need to sync this information to a PC such as a laptop, the best method is to use Bluetooth technology. If your laptop PC does not have Bluetooth built in, use a Bluetooth dongle to sync the two devices. Your in-dash GPS must have the Bluetooth technology as well to make the sync and information display successful.
Instructions
1. Install the GPS software onto the PC. Register the software and enter the GPS navigation device's serial or user number into the software.
2. Place the laptop PC into the automobile equipped with the in-dash GPS system. Turn the GPS and PC on. Enable the Bluetooth technology.
3. Click the "Find Bluetooth Device" option. Wait until the PC recognizes the GPS system and select it from the menu.
4. Open the software and check that the GPS Bluetooth transfer is working by viewing the software. Select the GPS device on the software menu and then select your viewscreen options.
