Set The Eq For Rock

Set your EQ based on the type of music you expect to play most often.

An equalizer allows you to control the sound of your system by adjusting the tone beyond the normal bass and treble control you find on a head unit. When setting up an equalizer for rock music, consider that rock genearlly incorporates a great deal of drumming and electric guitar. Adjust your EQ to have plenty of bass, or low end, and a lot of high end; mid-range is less important.

Instructions

1. Turn the low end of the equalizer all the way up. If you look at the EQ, the controls to the far left are the lower frequencies. The first control on the left is the control for the lowest frequencies and as you move to the right, the higher the frequency. You can look at it as the left side of the equalizer controls the bass and the right side is the treble and the middle controls are the mid-range.

2. Turn the high end of the equalizer all the way up.

3. Adjust the middle control on the equalizer to about half volume. So now you have the controls on the left side of the equalizer turned all the way up, the right side is also turned all the way up and the middle is half-way.

4. Start at the left side of the EQ and adjust the sound to your personal preference -- moving across the equalizer from right to left.
