With over 200,000 apps in the App Store, installing and deleting apps from the device is commonplace. Apps are available for download through the iTunes app store or by visiting the app store directly on iPhone. Deleting an app from the iPhone is simple, hold your finger on the icon until it begins to wiggle and press the red "X" to delete it. Removing an app in this manner does not fully delete it from the system. If an app remains in your iTunes library, the next time the iPhone is synced, the app will be reinstalled. In order to permanently remove an app from iTunes and iPhone, it must be deleted within iTunes.
Instructions
1. Click on the "Applications" folder in the dock and open "iTunes."
2. Select "iTunes" in the menu bar and open "Preferences."
3. Check the box next to "Show: Apps" and close this window.
4. Click on "Apps" under the "Library" section in the main iTunes window.
5. Navigate to the app that will be deleted and highlight it by clicking on it.
6. Press the "Delete" key on the keyboard or "Ctrl-click" on the app and select "Delete." A pop-up window will ask whether to keep the file or move it to the trash. Select "Move to Trash."
7. Sync your iPhone with iTunes and the app will also be deleted from the phone.
