Get Tape Off The Floor

Certain solutions are effective at removing tape from floors.


Tape is useful and convenient for holding different surfaces together. Certain types of tape are sometimes used purposely on floors to make temporary markings and for household repair purposes. Usually, people want to remove tape from floors to prevent the adhesive from leaving sticky stains. Tape should be removed promptly since old tape is more difficult to remove from surfaces than fresh tape. Before attempting to remove the tape, test the solutions on an inconspicuous area of the floor.








Instructions


1. Dampen a clean rag with rubbing alcohol. Rub the rag over the tape.


2. Allow the rubbing alcohol to absorb into the tape for 10 minutes. Pick at the edge of the tape with your fingernail.


3. Attempt to peel back the tape with your fingernail. If the tape is still firmly adhered to the floor, heat the tape with a hairdryer for 5 minutes. Aim the hairdryer 4 inches from the tape to soften the adhesive.


4. Peel the remaining tape up with your fingernail. Apply mineral oil to a paper towel.


5. Rub the floor with the paper towel to remove the remaining tape adhesive. you will find that mineral oil is effective at loosening tape adhesive.








6. Apply a dab of liquid dish soap to a clean washcloth. Dampen the washcloth with warm water.


7. Wipe the affected floor with the washcloth. Allow the floor to air dry.
