Install An Antenna

Instead of choosing to use something such as a satellite dish or cable, , many people instead install an antenna such as an HD antenna to boost their television reach. Using an antenna is a cheap alternative to other methods, especially if all you need are a few local channels. The installation of an antenna depends on what type of antenna is being installed, and whether you will need to install it inside or outside.

Instructions

1. Assemble the antenna according to the instruction manual.

2. Position the antenna. Ideally, you want to put the antenna in a place with access to the sky via a window. If the instructions call for an outside installation, be sure to position the antenna in an open area, and attach it using the provided tools. You may need to use a drill to put screws in place.

3. Connect the wires to the proper devices. You may need to drill holes in your house to do so, or run a wire through a window.

4. Turn on your television and see if the TV reception comes through clearly. If it doesn't, turn off the TV and reposition the antenna. Repeat this step until the TV comes in clear.
