Transfer your XM account to another radio


XM satellite radio provides excellent entertainment while traveling, motorcycling and boating--especially in locations where you can't get any other radio signals. The satellite radio equipment is continually being improved, with more features and streamlined for easier use. That makes it tempting to upgrade to a new radio. XM radio makes it easy to transfer your account to another radio, whether it's new or used, and the operation takes effect within minutes.


Instructions


1. Turn off your current satellite receiver and then set up your new radio. Be sure the new receiver has power and that the antenna is plugged into the receiver. The XM representative will ask you to read messages off of the screen on your new receiver at the time the transfer is being processed.


2. Call XM radio network from a telephone. The phone number is 1-800-XM-RADIO (1-800-967-2346) When you are connected to the automated menu system, you will be prompted to enter the telephone number you used when setting up your account. Enter the number and select "Activate radio." You will be transferred to a customer service representative, since you already have an account.


3. Provide your mailing address and the last four digits of your Social Security number when the representative asks. This information is used to make sure it is really you making the changes.


4. Notify the representative you want to transfer your account to a different radio receiver and provide the representative with the receiver identification number currently being used. You'll be asked for the receiver identification number of the new radio, so you must have it available at the time of the call.


5. The representative will ask you to verify messages appearing on your new receiver's screen to make sure your receiver is working properly after the transfer. Follow the steps provided to you. Once completed, your transfer will be finished.
