Use Minolta MC Lenses on a Canon 350D
Many photographers who started out using film have older lenses they would like to use with their newer digital SLR cameras. Many of them believe the glass and workmanship of the older lenses, such as the Minolta MC, are superior to the newer lenses. Fortunately, there are adapters that can be used to mount the Minolta MC lenses on a Canon 350D digital SLR camera.
Instructions
1. Buy a Minolta MC lens to Canon EOS adapter from a reputable dealer. You want to make sure you are buying the right lens adapter since many are on the market.
2. Mount the adapter onto the Minolta MC lens. Mounting the adapter on the Canon 350D camera body first will make it harder to mount the lens.
3. Check to make sure the camera is off. Mounting a lens on a camera that's turned on can damage the sensor and corrupt the pictures on your memory card.
4. Mount the lens on the Canon 350D camera body by lining up the red dot on the adapter with the red dot on the camera body. Gently turn the lens until it locks into place.
5. Turn on the camera and start taking pictures. You can only use manual focus on the Canon 350D. The lens does not support autofocus.
