The PowerShot G9 from Canon is a digital camera that features 12.1 megapixels as well as Canon's Digic III image processor. The camera can be set with a self-timer to automatically snap a picture after a coordinated time after the shutter has been pressed. If the self-timer is not working, you will need to check your camera settings to make sure you are in a compatible shooting mode.
Instructions
1. Check the "Scene" mode to which the camera is set. You cannot set the self-timer if you are in "Sports," "Color Accent" or "Color Swap" modes.
2. Check that you are not in "Panoramic" mode. You cannot set the self-timer if the camera is set to this.
3. Check that you are not in "Movie" mode. You cannot set the timer if the camera is in this.
4. Try setting a custom self-timer. The 10-second and two-second self-timer options give you two specific, preset delays. Using the custom self-timer option, you can set any time between one and 10, 15, 20 or 30 seconds.
