Equalizers let you adjust and modify the sound output of your stereo. The Kicker KQ5 is designed to be connected between your receiver and the external car amplifiers it's connected to, so it's the perfect "next step" for an audio enthusiast who already has a complete system but wants to take it one step further.
Instructions
1. Turn your stereo system off. Remove the fuse from the amplifiers power line.
2. Unplug the patch cords connected to your amplifier's FRONT L and FRONT R jacks. Plug them into the KQ5's INPUT FRONT L and FRONT R input jacks.
3. Unplug the patch cords connected to your amplifier's REAR L and REAR R jacks. Plug them into the KQ5's INPUT REAR L and REAR R input jacks.
4. Connect a patch cord between the amplifier's REAR L and REAR R jacks and the KQ5'S OUTPUT REAR L and REAR R jacks.
5. Connect a patch cord between the amplifier's FRONT L and FRONT R jacks and the KQ5'S OUTPUT FRONT L and FRONT R jacks.
6. Loosen the amplifier's PWR +, PWR - and REM screw terminals. Slide the bare ends of the KQ5's power harness into the terminals -- red wire to PWR +, black wire to PWR -, and blue wire to REM. Tighten the terminals. Plug the other end of the harness into the KQ5's matching input.
