Reset A Palm Treo Pro

The Palm Treo Pro is a keyboard-equipped cell phone that uses Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional Edition for its operating system, enabling you to run business applications for spreadsheets, presentations and word processing. If your Palm Treo Pro is not responding or is experiencing some other problem, you can try doing a soft reset, which is like rebooting a computer. If you want to erase all of your personal information and applications and reset the phone to the factory default settings, you can do a hard reset.

Instructions

Soft Reset

1. Press the "Power" button and hold it to turn off the phone.

2. Press the lower right corner of the back panel with your right thumb to release the panel from the phone, and slide it off. This will expose the "Reset" button.

3. Slide the phone's stylus out of its slot.

4. Hold the stylus and use its tip to press the "Reset" button gently. Wait for the Palm logo screen's progress bar to fill, which indicates the phone has reset itself.

5. Slide the back panel back on.

Hard Reset

6. Press the lower right corner of the back panel with your right thumb to release the panel from the phone, and slide it off. This exposes the "Reset" button. Slide the phone's stylus out of its slot. Press the "Power" button to wake up the screen if it is off.

7. Press the "End" button and hold it, while simultaneously using the stylus to press and gently release the "Reset" button. Continue holding the "End" button until the message, "Erase All Data?" appears on the phone's display.

8. Press the "Up" button to confirm that you want to do a hard reset and erase all data.

9. Wait for the Palm logo screen's progress bar to fill, which indicates the phone has finished the hard reset.

10. Slide the back panel back on.
