You do not normally need to completely discharge Li-Ion batteries before recharging them.
A Li-Ion battery's life lasts usually from 300 to 500 full charge/discharge cycles. There are several factors that affect the lifespan of a battery, such as the energy demand of the different applications that are run or the environmental conditions. For instance, it is well known that extreme operating temperatures, whether very hot or very cold, will significantly decrease battery life. There are a few things you can pay attention to in order to get the most out of your battery.
Instructions
1. Make sure your device that has the Li-Ion battery does not get too hot or too cold.
2. Provide a cooler for your device if it tends to get hot, such as a fan for a computer.
3. Store Li-Ion batteries in a place where the temperatures are between 70 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
4. Make sure your Li-Ion batteries are charged only 40% or lower when you are storing them.
5. Stabilize your battery within average temperature ranges before you recharge and use it, if you store it in an environment with a cold temperature.
6. Recharge the batteries completely before using them again after a long storage time.
7. Do not leave your Li-Ion battery at its terminal even when you are not using the device for a long time. (Terminals use battery current even when they are turned off.)
