Make A Helmet Mount

Adding a light to your helmet will make riding safer at night.

If you're going to be riding your bicycle at night, you need to provide enough light for others to be able to see you, and to be able to see where you are headed. There are different ways to mount a light on your bicycle, but another solution is to mount an LED flashlight on your helmet to maximize your visibility and your vision capacity.

Instructions

1. Thread the elastic band through one of the top middle vents on your bicycle helmet. Wrap it around the flashlight two or three times.

2. Rest the flashlight on the helmet. Mark the spot on the cable covering the flashlight where you want the Velcro, which should face upward. Cut two patches of the same size, and use the adhesive backing to stick one piece to the cable around the flashlight.

3. Thread the cable through the other upper middle vent. Pull the cable tight to find out where the matching patch should go on that end to hold the flashlight fast. Mark the line for the patch and another line to cut so you can remove excess slack.

4. Attach the second patch on the other end of the cable. Cut the excess cable off.
