There are many reasons that you may need to refresh your XM radio signal. One of the most common reasons to do this is because your XM radio never received the original signal to activate it. Another reason may be that your radio was deactivated and you must start over with the activation.
Instructions
1. Turn off your XM radio. If your need to refresh your signal, you are not receiving any of the stations that come across satellite radio anyway.
2. Call 1-800-XM-RADIO. The automated system will answer your call. There is no need to get a live operator to refresh your signal, so save yourself the wait time and do it over the automated system.
3. Choose option number 3 to refresh your XM signal. The automated system will then prompt you to enter your radio ID number. The system will then verify the ID number and then state that the signal has been sent.
4. Turn your XM radio on within 30 minutes of the recording saying that the signal has been sent. Turn to channel 1 on your radio. Wait 15 to 20 minutes for the signal to refresh your XM radio. Check to see that all of your XM stations are coming in on your receiver.
