The Megapixel Digital Video Spy Pen camera is a miniaturized digital camera stored in the upper half of a ballpoint pen, designed to avoid detection by casual observers. To enhance the illusion, the lower half of the camera functions as a standard ballpoint pen. The camera is capable of capturing up to eight gigabytes of still photographs and video, using the JPG and AVI file formats. The device's image resolution is 1240 by 960 and it can achieve frame rates between 27 and 29 frames per second when recording video.
Instructions
1. Turn on the camera by holding down the power button, located at the top of the pen, for approximately two seconds. This button will also serve to control the camera's recording functions. Twist apart the two halves of the pen; inspect the underside of the upper half and locate the mode switch and USB port.
2. Set the mode switch to the desired setting. The "R" setting will put the camera into "general" recording mode, allowing you to activate the recording feature by pressing the power button. The "L" setting activates audio-detection mode; the camera will automatically begin recording when it detects the sound of voices. The "M" setting allows you to take still photographs with each press of the power button.
3. Join the two halves of the pen back together. Find the camera's lens, located above the pen's clip. Point the lens at the desired target and record video or still images using the method appropriate to the selected mode setting. Hold down the power button for approximately two seconds to turn the camera off after use.
4. Twist apart the two halves of the pen and plug the USB cable into the upper half's USB port. Plug the remaining end of the cable into an unused USB port on your computer. Browse the list of drives connected to your computer and open the "removable hard disk" entry to access the camera's saved files.
5. Open the camera's "_REC" folder and navigate to the "100MEDIA" folder. Browse the contents of the folder and locate the images or videos you wish to view. Copy the image or video files onto your computer and open them in your operating system's default viewing program.
