Share a Slingbox








If you want to replicate your home TV experience anywhere in the world, you can use a Slingbox. The Slingbox is a multimedia device that connects to your home TV and your home network. It then shares your TV connection with computers that are set up to access it. It can share your connection with multiple computers or laptops. To share the Slingbox, you first have to set up the connection in your house. Then you will be able to access it wirelessly.


Instructions


1. Insert the SlingPlayer software disc into your computer. Wait for the installer to open. Click "Next." Click the button to "Set up your Slingbox for the first time."


2. Wait while your Slingbox is detected. Click "Next." Click the connection type you use, then "Next." Adjust the picture and audio settings if you want, then click "Next."


3. Complete the next settings depending on how your Slingbox is connected to your network and television. Click "Next" until you reach the "Name your Slingbox" screen. Enter a name and click "Next." Enter a password for your Slingbox and confirm it. Enter an administrator password and confirm it. Click "Next."


4. Click "Next" until you reach the "Remote viewing" screen. Check the box to confirm you will "watch outside of your home network."


5. Click "Fully automatic UPnP," then click "Next." If any issues arise, click the "Help set up port forwarding" button. Click "Ready to continue" and click "Next." Click "Finish."


6. Repeat this on other computers that you want to share your Slingbox with.


7. Double-click the "Launch SlingPlayer" shortcut on your desktop when you are ready to view your Slingbox. Click the "Slingbox Directory" and then wait for your device to appear. You are now sharing the Slingbox.
