The Canon T70 is a 35 mm camera first introduced in 1984 and intended for use by beginner photographers. The T70 features an LCD display, eight exposure modes, a 0.7-second continuous shooting rate and powered film transport (loading, advancing and rewinding). Well-received by the photography community, the Canon T70 won the Good Design Award and European Camera of the Year award in the year of its introduction.
Instructions
1. Open the battery chamber cover located on the underside of the camera. Install two AA batteries. Close the battery chamber cover.
2. Remove the body cap from the front of the camera by turning it counterclockwise, then pulling; repeat with the rear lens cap. Affix the camera lens by first aligning the mount positioning point on the lens with the red dot on the camera, then turning the lens clockwise until it locks. Remove the lens cap.
3. Hold down the button labeled "ISO" and select your desired film speed by using the buttons labeled "Up" and "Down" (the current selection will appear in the LCD display).
4. Locate the back cover latch on the side of the camera. Press the latch down and open the back cover. Place your film in the chamber located inside the camera, to the left.
5. Hold the film canister in place with one hand while pulling out a length of film with the other; the film length should just reach the orange index located to the right of the film chamber. Align the perforations located on the edges of the film length with the sprockets underneath. Close the back cover and allow the camera to finish advancing the film.
6. Lift the camera to eye level and look at your subject through the viewfinder. Turn the focusing ring until your subject is properly focused. Apply light pressure to the shutter button; check that the exposure is correct by looking for a green "P" and an exposure number on the right side of the viewfinder.
7. Finish composing your image as desired and press the shutter button all the way down. Continue taking pictures as desired, until the roll of film is complete (the camera will notify you of this by beeping repeatedly for several seconds).
8. Locate the rewind unlock switch on the underside of the camera and slide it to the unlocked position while pressing down on the button beside it; this will rewind the film canister. You may now reopen the back cover and remove the film canister.
