Instructions
1. Turn the dial to select the option that best corresponds to the type of photo you wish to take. Select "Landscape" to set the camera to focus on distant objects. Select "Sport" if you will be taking a picture of something moving quickly, such as a running athlete. Select "Portrait" when taking a picture of something that fills the entire frame. Select "Close Up" when your subject is located very near the camera. Select "Auto" for general purpose use.
2. Press the "Menu" button. Use the controller buttons to navigate the menu options and select "Picture Size." Choose your desired picture size (larger sizes will result in higher resolution images, but will also fill up your memory card more quickly).
3. Press the "Menu" button and use the controller buttons to select "Exposure Compensation." Adjust the settings as desired (if your pictures are too light, select a lower value and vice versa).
4. Press the "Flash" button to scroll through the available flash options. Select the lightning bolt icon to configure the camera to use the flash in every shot. Select the lightning bolt icon with the A next to it to set the camera to automatically determine when to use the flash. Select the eye icon to set the flash to reduce red eye. Select the lightning bolt with a circle and a line through it to set the camera to never use the flash.
5. Look through the viewfinder and frame the shot as desired. Apply light pressure to the shutter button to focus the camera and set the exposure. When the "Ready" light turns green, push the shutter button all the way down to take your picture. Check the LCD screen to review your picture.
