The Merlin MLX-10DP voicemail system is an Avaya product and is distributed for commercial use. The voicemail system should only be reset if none of the LED lights on the Merlin mail port are lit, the mail port is locked, which can be assumed if the red and greed LED lights are constantly on and won't blink or no calls are answered on specific ports, or if the mail system answers calls but doesn't function in other ways. Avaya recommends that you have a professional reset the system.
Instructions
1. Get to the Merlin Legend Mail module. The module is thin receiver box that contains several LED lights. The words "Voice Mail Ports" will be printed on the front of the module.
2. Locate the "VM Reset" button. The reset button is actually a small hole located slightly above the nine-pin serial port.
3. Insert the straightened paperclip or other straight object into the "VM Reset" port to press the button inside. The voicemail system will be reset.
