So you have your Garmin 660 and you're very pleased with the way it works. You haven't gotten lost in quite some time now. But you seem to recall that one of the many desirable features of this model is that it is supposed to say the street names as it guides you to your destination. So why doesn't yours do it? The answer is quite simple. By following the steps below, you can easily activate this feature.
Instructions
Make a Garmin 660 Say the Name of the Streets
1. From the main menu, press the SETTINGS button (the wrench icon).
2. Choose LOCALE from the menu to view location settings.
3. Select VOICE LANGUAGE to see a list of available voices.
4. Select a voice option from this menu with a TTS after the name. This indicates that it is a text-to-speech option with the capability of saying street names. Those without the TTS are prerecorded and do not have the ability to say street names.
5. Press OK to save the new selection.
6. Press the BACK button until you have returned to the main menu.
