Use The Timer In Snag It

When using SnagIt software to capture screen shots, the program doesn't allow the user to open a drop-down window without the use of the timer function. The timer delays the SnagIt capture so you can set up the screen to get exactly what you need to capture like drop-down windows or Flash menus. This article will show you set up the SnagIt timer for more advanced capturing.

Instructions

Use the Timer in SnagIt

1. Launch the SnagIt software.

2. Click on the small stopwatch in the "Options" area.

3. Click the checkbox "Enable delayed/scheduled capture."

4. Clicking the radio button next to "Delayed capture" allows you to choose the number of seconds you want SnagIt to delay the screenshot from being taken. You also have the option to displayed or not display the countdown to when the capture will record.

5. The radio button next to "Scheduled capture" allows you to set the date and time the screen capture will be recorded.

6. Once you have made your choice, simply click "Apply" and then "OK." Your options are now saved and you can continue as usual with the screen capture and the delay settings you saved.

7. To undo the delay feature, go back into the stopwatch icon in Options and uncheck the "Enable delayed/scheduled capture" box.
