You can use your older Pentax lenses on the K220D
Older Pentax lenses can work on the most current digital cameras like the Pentax K220D. While the lens will function on the camera, it will not work exactly the same as a current auto focus lens would. For example, attaching a manual focus Pentax lens to the Pentax K220D does not mean the lens will now become an auto focus lens. However, the lens will benefit from the Pentax Anti-Shake program built into the camera, as opposed to image stabilization programs from other companies that are lens based.
Instructions
1. Line the guide dots on the outside of the older Pentax lens to the guide dot on the Pentax K220D mounting bracket. Place the lens against the mounting bracket and rotate the lens until it clicks in place.
2. Turn the "AF/MF" switch on the bottom front of the Pentax K220D to "MF." This puts the camera into manual focus mode.
3. Press the "Menu" button located on the back of the Pentax K220D and scroll through the menu selections and select "Using Aperture Ring." Change the value for this setting from "Prohibited" to "Permitted" and press "OK" to save the change. Press the "Menu" button to exit the menu screens.
4. Turn the exposure mode ring on the top left of the camera to "Av" for "Aperture Priority" or to "M" for "Manual" mode.
5. Hold the camera to your eye and turn the focusing ring on the older lens to focus the lens.
6. Press the shutter release to activate the metering program, and make adjustments to the aperture ring until the camera sets the exposure.
7. Press the shutter release the entire way down to take the picture.
