Do A Fun Photo Shoot

Making your subject comfortable is crucial to creating fun photo shoots.

One of the most important things that you can do as a photographer during a photo shoot is to make your subject comfortable with you and the situation. It is not only your job to plan out the technicalities of the shoot, but to also get to know your subject and to interact with him or her before, during, and after the shoot. Setting up the shoot is the easier part; the more difficult part,is being able to create believable photographs with your subject.

Instructions

1. Call or meet with your subject beforehand to introduce yourself to him. Get to know him so that you will know shape the shoot. The more you get to know him, the more comfortable he will be during the shoot.

2. Set up all props and lighting beforehand. Being confident with your own abilities and the angles and lighting of the shoot will ensure that your subject will be more confident with the way the shoot will turn out.

3. Bring fun props and clothing options for your subject. Allow him to interact with the camera. Encourage him to move around and experiment with positions. If your subject feels open and loose with you, you will be able to create much better photographs.

4. Open up to your subject and encourage him during the shoot. You can be loose and cut jokes while still being professional. Share the pictures you have taken with the subject. Ask for his feedback. If he has any suggestions, consider them.
