Cannot Connect Canon 5d In Digikam 0 10 0

DigiKam is an open source organization and editing program for digital images. You can import pictures from your computer or digital camera and edit them through a wide range of photo editing features. You can also organize you images so you have easy access whenever you need them. The DigiKam software is compatible with any digital camera that will interface with your computer, including the Canon 5D.

Instructions

1. Set the camera's power switch to "On." If the camera is not turned on, your computer will not be able to recognize it.

2. Check that the USB cable connecting your 5D to your computer is securely fit on both ends. If your computer cannot read your camera, neither will DigiKam.

3. Check that the camera has been added as an interface device in DigiKam. In the DikiKam window, lick on "Import," highlight "Add camera" and select the Canon 5D as your camera.

4. Try connecting the camera's SD card directly to your computer. If your computer has a card reader, insert the card into it. If not, get a USB card reader and connect the SD card to your computer. DigiKam should be able to read it as a mass storage device.

5. Try importing your images to your computer. With your camera or SD card connected, copy the images from your memory card directly onto your computer's hard drive by selected the images, right-clicking and selecting "Copy." In the DigiKam window, click "Import," select "Add images" and import the images from the folder into DigiKam.

6. Update to the latest version of DigiKam. If you still cannot import images, update to the latest version of DigiKam via the download linked in Resources below. The newest version should fix any bugs with the program and give you added functionality.
