Videophones enable the transmission of audio and video data so users can see each other when they speak; however, you have to call someone else who uses a videophone. The price of the devices has drastically reduced in recent years, but it is still not a popular gadget among the general public. But, for deaf and hearing-impaired individuals, the device enables better telephone communication. The videophone is also popular among war correspondents, members of social networks, listeners of Internet radio and academia for distance learning and videoconferencing. Videophones use ordinary phone lines and Internet connections.
